Child Custody Protection Act (H.R. 1755): To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit taking minors across state lines in circumvention of laws requiring the involvement of parents in abortion decisions.

RU-486 Patient Health and Safety Protection Act (H.R. 486): To require the Food and Drug Administration to establish restrictions regarding the qualifications of physicians to prescribe the abortion drug commonly known as RU-486. 

Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2003 (S. 146): To amend titles 10 and 18, United States Code, to protect unborn victims of violence. 

Breast Cancer

Annie Fox Act (H.R. 1657): To provide funding for programs at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences regarding breast cancer in younger women and for other purposes. 

Better Screening Test for Women Act (H. R. 1241): To authorize additional appropriations to the National Institutes of Health for research on the early detection of and the reduction of mortality rates attributed to breast cancer. 

Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act of 2003 (H.R. 1746): To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize the director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to make grants for the development and operation of research centers regarding environmental factors that may be related to the etiology of breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act of 2003 (H.R. 1886): To amend the Public Health Service Act and Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to require that group and individual health insurance coverage and group health plans provide coverage for a minimum hospital stay for mastectomies and lymph node dissections performed for the treatment of breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Prescription Drug Fairness Act of 2003 (H. R. 896): To provide for substantial reductions in the price of prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries and for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Consumer Involvement in Breast Cancer Research Act (S. 415): To amend the Public Health Service Act to provide, with respect to research on breast cancer, for the increased involvement of advocates in decisionmaking at the National Cancer Institute. 

Women's Cancer Recovery Act of 2003 (H.R. 1448): To require that health plans provide coverage for a minimum hospital stay for mastectomies and lymph node dissection for the treatment of breast cancer and coverage for secondary consultations.

Caring for Children Act (S. 389): To increase the supply of quality child care. 

Child Care Construction and Renovation Act (H.R. 895): To provide for the construction and renovation of child care facilities, and for other purposes.

Child Care Lending Pilot Act of 2003 (H.R. 3099): To amend the Small Business Investment Act of 1958 to establish a pilot program for lending to small, nonprofit child care businesses.

Personal Responsibility, Work, and Family Promotion Act of 2003 (H.R. 4): To reauthorize and improve the program of block grants to States for temporary assistance for needy families, improve access to quality child care and for other purposes. 

Child Support

Child Support Distribution Act of 2003 (S. 669): To provide more child support money to families leaving welfare, to simplify the rules governing the assignment and distribution of child support collected by states on behalf of children, to improve the collection of child support, and for other purposes. 

Child Support Enforcement Act (H.R. 262): To allow a custodial parent a bad debt deduction for unpaid child support payments and to require a parent who is chronically delinquent in child support to include the amount of the unpaid obligation in gross income.

PROMISE Act (S. 1609): To make aliens ineligible to receive visas and exclude aliens from admission into the United States for nonpayment of child support. 

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence Screening, Treatment, and Prevention Act of 2003 (H.R. 1267): To amend the Public Health Service Act, the Social Security Act, and chapter 89 of title 5, United States Code, to provide research on the health impact and prevention of family violence; to provide training for health care professionals, behavioral and public health staff, and community health centers regarding identification and treatment for families experiencing family violence; and to provide coverage for domestic violence identification and treatment under the Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant Program, the Medicaid Program, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, and the Community Health Centers Program. 

Domestic Violence Shelter Coordination Act of 2003 (H.R. 777): To authorize grants to States to fund arrangements between local police departments and public accommodations to have the accommodations serve as emergency domestic violence shelters. 

Domestic Violence Victim Protection Act (H.R. 1895): To amend federal crime grant programs relating to domestic violence to encourage states and localities to implement gun confiscation policies, reform stalking laws, create integrated domestic violence courts, and hire additional personnel for entering protection orders and for other purposes. 

Family

Family and Medical Leave Clarification Act (H.R. 35): To amend the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 to clarify the Act and for other purposes. 

Family and Medical Leave Clarification Act (S. 320): To amend the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 to clarify the Act and for other purposes. 

Family and Medical Leave Enhancement Act of 2003 (H.R. 956): To amend the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 to allow employees to take, as additional leave, parental involvement leave to participate in or attend their children's and grandchildren's educational and extracurricular activities and to clarify that leave may be taken for routine medical needs and to assist elderly relatives, and for other purposes. 

Military Families Leave Act of 2003 (S. 683): To amend the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 to provide entitlement to leave to eligible employees whose spouse, son, daughter, or parent is a member of the Armed Forces serving on active duty in support of a contingency operation or notified of an impending call or order to active duty in support of a contingency operation. 

Responsible Fatherhood Act of 2003 (S. 604): To amend part D of title IV of the Social Security Act to provide grants to promote responsible fatherhood, and for other purposes. 

Strengthening Families Act of 2003 (S.657): To amend title IV of the Social Security Act to provide grants to promote responsible fatherhood, to encourage teen pregnancy prevention strategies, and for other purposes. 

History

Votes for Women History Trail Act of 2003 (H.R. 1525): To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to establish a commemorative trail in connection with the Women's Rights National Historical Park to link properties that are historically and thematically associated with the struggle for women's suffrage, and for other purposes. 

Votes for Women History Trail Act of 2003 (S.749): To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to establish the Votes for Women History Trail in the state of New York. 

Marriage 

Making Marriage Tax Relief Permanent Act of 2003 (H. R. 759): To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to accelerate the elimination of the marriage penalty in the standard deduction and in the 15-percent income tax rate bracket. 

Marriage IRA Fairness Act of 2003 (H.R. 686): To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to eliminate the marriage penalty with regard to income limits for the IRA deduction for active participants in pension plans. 

Marriage Penalty and Family Tax Relief Act of 2003 (S. 1196): To eliminate the marriage penalty permanently in 2003. 

Permanent Marriage Tax Elimination Act of 2003 (H.R. 2466): To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to permanently extend the marriage penalty tax relief enacted by the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003. 

State Regulation of Marriage Is Appropriate Act (H.R. 2677): To amend title 1, United States Code, to eliminate any Federal policy on the definition of marriage.

Men's Health Act of 2003 (H.R. 1734): To amend the Public Health Service Act to establish an Office of Men's Health.

Motherhood

Breastfeeding Promotion Act (H.R. 2790): To amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect breastfeeding by new mothers; to provide for a performance standard for breast pumps; and to provide tax incentives to encourage breastfeeding. 

Motherhood Protection Act of 2003 (H. R. 2247): To provide additional punishment for certain crimes against women when the crimes cause an interruption in the normal course of their pregnancies, and for other purposes. 

Pregnancy Discrimination Act Amendments of 2003 (S. 418): To amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect breastfeeding by new mothers.

Violence Against Women

Compassionate Assistance for Rape Emergencies Act (H.R. 2527): To provide for the provision by hospitals of emergency contraceptives to women who are survivors of sexual assault.

Hate Crime Statistics Improvement Act of 2003 (H.R. 374): To amend the Hate Crime Statistics Act to require the Attorney General to acquire data about crimes that manifest evidence of prejudice based on gender. 

Rape Kits and DNA Evidence Backlog Elimination Act of 2003 (S. 149): To improve investigation and prosecution of sexual assault cases with DNA evidence, and for other purposes. 

Violence Against Women Civil Rights Restoration Act of 2003 (H.R.394): A bill to restore the federal civil remedy for crimes of violence motivated by gender. 

Women's Health

Assure Access to Mammography Act of 2003 (H.R. 817): To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for enhanced reimbursement under the medicare program for screening and diagnostic mammography services, and for other purposes.

Mammogram Availability Act of 2003 (H.R. 736): To amend the Public Health Service Act and Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to require that group and individual health insurance coverage and group health plans provide coverage for annual screening mammography for women 40 years of age or older if the coverage or plans include coverage for diagnostic mammography. 

Screening Mammography Act of 2003 (H.R. 1851): To amend the Public Health Service Act and Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to require that group and individual health insurance coverage and group health plans provide coverage for annual screening mammography for any class of covered individuals if the coverage or plans include coverage for diagnostic mammography for such class and to amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to provide for coverage of annual screening mammography under the Medicaid Program.
