Oveta Culp Hobby, Eisenhower Administration, second woman to hold a presidential cabinet position and first Secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

Carla A. Hills, Ford Administration, first female Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and also served as assistant attorney general; and U.S. Trade Representative in the George H. Bush Administration.

Shirley Mount Hufstedler, Carter Administration, first Secretary of Education.

Patricia Roberts Harris, Carter Administration, first female Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and first Secretary of Health and Human Services. She was the first African-American woman in a presidential cabinet position. 

Juanita M. Kreps, Carter Administration, served as the first female Secretary of Commerce.

Elizabeth Dole served as Secretary of Transportation in the Reagan Administration and Secretary of Labor in the George H. Bush Administration.

Madeleine Albright served as the first female Secretary of the State in the Clinton Administration.

Janet Reno served as the first female Attorney General in the Clinton Administration.
